Whenever one reaches a crossroads in life, and feels at a loss as to which way to turn, many believers will go to Hsing Tian Kong and draw a divination lot (fortune stick) inscribed with an oracular verse of four lines of seven characters each. From these messages they can understand the divine opinion of the Saviors. When drawing a lot, one should also use the divination blocks to confirm the deities’ advice.
1. State your personal details and the matter on which you seek guidance. Only seek advice on one matter at a time.
2. Throw the divination blocks to ask the deities’ permission to draw a lot. If the answer is “yes”, draw a lot out of the container.
3. Take note of the number marked on the lot that you drew, put the lot back in the container, and throw the divination blocks again to confirm whether the oracular poem that the number refers to is the one intended by the deities. If not, you need to draw a new lot, until you get a “yes” response.
4. After you get a “yes” response, please go to the information desk to collect your oracular poem according to the number marked on the lot, and ask the person on duty to explain it to you.
