The Founder：Master Hsuan Kung Master Hsuan Kung (Mr. Huang Tsung, 1911–1970) was born in Shulin District, New Taipei City. Diligent and hardworking from an early age, he later became a coalmining magnate. After resolving to build Hsing Tian Kong and its two branch temples, he threw himself into the project with tireless energy and unshakable determination, while nonetheless continuing his work of religious teaching. Master Hsuan Kung built the main Hsing Tian Kong in downtown Taipei, and two branch temples, one in Sanxia, New Taipei City, and the other in Beitou, Taipei City. His vision and efforts enabled Hsing Tian Kong to become an important center of faith.
